United Way Volunteer Honored with Thiele Award
June 8, 2012 (Fort Wayne, Ind.) – United Way of Allen County volunteer Bruce Menshy was recently honored with the Monsignor Thiele award at a June 7 breakfast reception at Fort Wayne Country Club. Each year, the Raymond Rosenberger Foundation awards a committed United Way advocate with the Monsignor Thiele award. Monsignor Charles Thiele was rector of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fort Wayne from 1905 to 1938 and a priest in the Fort Wayne Diocese for nearly 53 years, serving under four bishops. Raymond Rosenberger and his parents were parishioners of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Menshy is the Director of Operations at Raytheon Company in Fort Wayne. He has been with the company in Fort Wayne for 40 years. He is a leadership donor to United Way of Allen County and has served in numerous volunteer positions, including Board of Directors member, Campaign Cabinet member, and currently serves as a Finance Committee member. He has been a campaign ambassador for many years, reaching out to other business executives to engage them with United Way and run workplace campaigns.
“United Way is fortunate that Bruce is such a dedicated volunteer and donor who is devoted to help our organization grow and improve,” said Todd Stephenson, president and CEO of United Way of Allen County. “Bruce’s work, and the work of hundreds of other volunteers, allows United Way to help thousands of local residents in need each year.”
