Advocate for 2-1-1

2-1-1 Milestone Reached: 221 House Cosponsors
Thanks to the efforts of many local United and state United Way staff and volunteers, culminating in United Way Day on Capitol Hill on March 17, we now have 221 cosponsors of the Calling for 211 Act (S.211/H.R.211) in the U.S. House of Representatives, which surpasses our goal and represents a majority of House members. A big thank you to Representative Mark Souder and Senator Richard Lugar, who are both cosponsors! Click here S.211 / H.R.211 to learn more about the legislation. The legislation will provide federal money to states starting or enhancing a 2-1-1 system.

It's now time to urge members of Congress to bring the legislation to the floor for a vote. Click here for instructions on contacting your Congressional leaders and thanking them for their support, whilre urging them to bring the legislation to a vote.
