United Way of Allen County's 2006-2007 campaign generated $6.1 million for health and human services needs.
Taking into account administrative and fundraising costs, UWAC's total community investment will be $5 million. That investment includes money earmarked for more than 70 services, in-kind donations and funding for initiatives such as 2-1-1 and Success By 6.
The 2007-2008 campaign kicks off Aug. 29, 2006 with the annual Day of Caring, sponsored by Lincoln Financial Group. Chair of the campaign is Irene Walters, a UWAC board member and director of university relations and communications at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
